Jam-Hall participated in the European Bluegrass Summit, a major gathering of bluegrass music professionals held in Prague, Czech Republic, for three days from February 28 to April 2. This was a major success for the European Bluegrass Music Association (EBMA), chaired by Christopher Howard Williams.
A high-quality European summit, rich in discussions and reflections on numerous topics, supported by the Bluegrass Music Museum Hall of Fame, IBMA, and IBMA Foundation, with partners including the Czech Bluegrass Association, Capek Instruments, Bluegrass In La Roche, and the FBMA.
The aim of this summit was to relaunch the EBMA and bring together members of the European community to create opportunities for meetings, debates, roundtables, and jam sessions. It was also an opportunity for the EBMA to hold its general assembly.
The first day concluded with an open stage featuring nine European bands, including a group of kids from France, Sweden, and the Czech Republic. They had never met before and played for 25 minutes with the skill and musical drive worthy of an experienced band. The young and talented French mandolinist Thomas Marinello, supported by JAM-HALL and FBMA, was able to participate in this European summit and this fantastic open stage.
Two exceptional concerts organized by Capek Instruments took place on Saturday and Sunday evenings with Southern Legacy and John Reischman & the Jaybirds. Workshops were also organized with the musicians from these two groups. Stay informed at ebma.org.
