This fourth edition will take place during the Bluegrass in La Roche festival on Thursday July 31st, Friday August 1st and Saturday August 2nd, 2025. The guest teacher is Alex Neff, from Pennsylvannia. Your young people have everything they need to prepare thanks to the four well-produced videos by the latter. These videos are available on the Jam Hall YouTube channel as well as on the project website (links below).
Born in Pennsylvania, Alex Neff has been immersed in bluegrass music since childhood. And while he most often expresses his music with his fiddle, he also plays guitar, mandolin, banjo, and double bass. He speaks both French and English fluently.
The four instructional videos he designed and produced for this workshop are equally interesting for adults and young people. He presents them in English but directly integrates French subtitles.
The first one is particularly interesting and practical, with the topic "How to approach a new song?" These are very useful tips for saving time and efficiency, as well as for avoiding getting lost.
The other three feature the songs planned for this year's workshop:
- Long Journey Home.
- Hop High Ladies.
- My Texas Girl.
By watching them directly on YouTube, you'll have access to the chapters by simply clicking on the small "Show more..." link.
This will allow you to go directly to the part of the instrument you're practicing or to the vocals part.
Ti' Pierre and Thomas Marinello will complete the teaching team, with the constant attention and support of Philippe Boutet.
If you're considering registering your child, it's easy to organize a video conference that will allow us to get to know each other and answer all your questions.
Upon registration, you can also benefit from two free online lessons with Ti' Pierre to make things even easier for your child.
Your child will thus have everything they need to prepare well and easily in advance and fully enjoy the camp and group performance.
The camp, as in previous years, will be held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings, with a performance on a festival stage late Saturday morning.
