This post is available in French or English.
It all began in 2022 with the benevolence of the Bluegrass In La Roche festival. During the last two years, K.O.B.E. (Kids On Bluegrass Europe) had Julia Zech, Maribel Rivero, Lluis Gomez, and Petr Brandejs as teachers. For its 3rd edition, it continues with Ross Mc Kerrell.
Kids On Bluegrass Europe is a three-day course in La Roche sur Foron (74) for young people aged 6 to 16 playing a Bluegrass instrument, whether guitar, violin, mandolin, banjo, dobro or double bass. Ukuleles are also welcome.
The 2022 and 2023 editions saw the participation of young musicians from France, Belgium, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, Portugal, Hungary and the Czech Republic.
The group and the levels are different each year, we make sure to give everyone the opportunity to express themselves musically according to their skills.
We play a lot together while respecting the values of Bluegrass music, that's the main objective. Develop listening skills, play rhythmically in place, accompany and support others if they play a solo part, play an instrumental part if you feel like it...
Everyone can therefore participate at their level, even if only by accompanying using 4 basic chords (G, C, A, D).
Below the 2023 stage performance:
Sur le site Kids On Bluegrass Europe, vous trouverez tous les détails et infos, dont le coût du stage de trois jours qui n'est que de... 50 €.
Et sur simple contact, vous pourrez même organiser une rencontre vidéo avec vous-même, votre enfant et l'un des profs du stage. C'est ainsi bien plus facile et sympathique d'envisager une participation si l'on a déjà fait connaissance.
On the Kids On Bluegrass Europe website, you will find all the details and information, including the cost of the three-day course which is only... €50.
On a simple contact, you can even organize a video meeting with yourself, your child, and one of the course teachers. It is therefore much easier and more pleasant to consider participation if you have already gotten to know each other.
2022 editon:
The Jam Hall association is particularly proud to be leading this project in France, and we are working with E.B.M.A. (European Bluegrass Music Association) to give it a European dimension.
Many thanks to the Bluegrass In La Roche Festival which actively supports this project by hosting it for the third year.
